A Fun Way To Introduce Your Child To The Art of PhotographyHere's a great idea to get your kids to enjoy the art of photography.
One summer, Chris and I signed our kids up for a photography class at the local library. The instructor had a very creative way to have the kids explore the art of photography. Each child was given a camera and had to go on a sort of "scavenger hunt". The kids were instructed to take photos of everything on the list. But, it isn't exactly what you would think...at times the items would really stretch their imagination. We went around town, cameras in hand, taking photographs of all kinds of things. We ALL had a blast! Each child had their own unique perspective of what each category meant to them. The instructor developed the film (this was pre-digital era) and each child received the photographs the following week. The photographs were put onto posters so that each child could present their collection. These amateur photographers were so proud of their portfolio. It was such a wonderful experience. Try it yourself and with your kids! You'll be amazed at what you will discover. (Digital photography makes it so much easier to do this project too as you can see instant results.) Here are a few ideas for your "scavenger hunt". · Group photo · Individual photo · Shadows · Something round · Nature · Reflection · Body part · Close and personal · Landscape · Movement · Water · Colorful · Horizontal · Vertical · Angle · Living Use an online photo service such as Picaboo, Smilebox, Snapfish or Shutterfly for a neat way to use their photos. It's fun and easy to use. Have fun! |
